AJS (5)

You won’t find motorcycles more old school than AJS. Founded in England in 1909, they built some of the toughest rides of the era and by 1931 held 117 motorcycle world records. On several occasions, the fastest land machines on the planet were AJS motorcycles.

Sure they're old and many of you young crackers with no interest in motorcycle history might be thinking, "You won't find me on a bike that could be the one me great granddad got his first root on!" But you have to admit they look pretty damn cool and chicks go nuts for guys on old school bangers. It's true...I'll leave you to figure out why.

I've included pics of my favourites and links to all the other AJS/Matchless bikes. Check them out learn your motorcycle history son!

500cc V4 (1935)
This bastard is a 500cc V4 supercharged beast with a top speed of 218kph

     AJS 7R 350cc OHC Single (1963-1991)

MODEL 18 500S (1948-1959)

MODEL 31 CSR HURRICANE (1963)

MODEL 30 600 (1957)

These bikes crop up for sale now and then and go for around 5K for a Model 30 to 12K for a mint condition, fully restored CSR Hurricane.

Don't dismiss the older bikes. There's a reason they're called classics and they aren't going to decrease in value any time soon.

If you're into old school bikes or motorcycle history, this site is a wealth of interesting info.
